More transparent and efficient sustainability work at Vexve

Vexve has published its first sustainability overview, which provides a cross-section of the most important measures from last year. The overview is a significant step towards more transparent and effective responsibility work at Vexve.

Vexve has published its first-ever sustainability overview. The publication, which brings together the most important measures from last year, is a significant step towards more transparent and effective responsibility work at Vexve.

“At Vexve, sustainability is not just a goal, but a core value around which our strategy and vision are built. We wish to be pioneers. That's why we want to highlight how we are building a sustainable future, not only through our products, but also through our operations," says Vexve's Sustainability Director Mia Piirainen.

A busy year in sustainable development

The publication, entitled Sustainability at Vexve 2024, delves into all pillars of ESG –Environmental, Social and Governance. In addition to our operations and employees, the entire supply chain is involved.

“I feel that one of the biggest successes of last year was getting this publication together on such a large scale.”

Extensive work has been done throughout the organisation to promote sustainability, and progress has been made in all ESG areas.

“We have refined our GHG emissions calculations¹ to better reflect our supply chain, products and operations. Also, we obtained third-party verified EPDs² for our district energy valves,” Mia lists.

Social and Governance KPIs³ were collected extensively for the first time in the reporting process, and at the same time, the need for refining was identified. In addition, the Code of Conduct for employees and business partners and related processes were updated.

Sustainability work continues

In addition to summarising and transparently highlighting measures related to sustainability, the overview has also been found useful in identifying further development measures.

In the future, the overview will be published annually as Vexve continues to develop its operations in all ESG areas.

“Currently, we are in the process of defining our long- and short-term emission reduction targets. We will also be adding our new business unit, Vexve Denmark, into the reporting,” Mia reveals.

As Vexve grows, Mia sees that implementing sustainability at the employee level and increasing understanding are very important.

"Sustainability is part of our strategy, but we must work together to achieve it. Only then can Vexve achieve its vision of becoming the leading provider of mission-critical valve solutions in the transition to a low-carbon future.”
