Vexve strengthens delivery capacity for trunnion mounted ball valves

Vexve is strengthening its production capabilities with a new trunnion mounted ball valve production line, increasing capacity and supporting the continued growth of the product range.
Vexve’s high-quality and durable trunnion mounted ball valves are designed for the demanding district heating applications. The new production line in Sastamala will multiply production capacity and ensure good product availability even during the busiest season.
Vexve’s trunnion mounted ball valve range offers comprehensive and competitive solutions for district heating. Launched in 2021, the product range successfully met market needs, and its popularity has exceeded growth expectations. To meet increasing demand, the company has invested in a new automated production line at Vexve Finland’s Sastamala factory.
“For our customers, reliable product availability is one of the most important reasons for choosing Vexve’s solutions. This is particularly important during the peak season, which runs from spring to autumn. The new production line significantly increases our capacity and supports our delivery performance as demand continues to grow,” says Juho Rentola, Director of the Heavy Valves business unit (pictured in the main image).

Delivery capacity multiplies
The investment of approximately EUR 1.7 million in the modern production line covers the entire manufacturing process, from machining to assembly and testing. The line has been optimised for the efficient serial production of trunnion mounted ball valves.
“Automation and robotics ensure consistent quality and reduce the risk of human error. Efficient and optimised domestic manufacturing produces high-quality valves for district energy applications,” says Rentola.
Approximately 90 per cent of production is exported for district energy applications across Scandinavia and Europe.
“In practice, we can multiply our previous production volumes,” Rentola concludes.
Designed for district energy applications
According to Henrikki Pekkonen, Product Manager for trunnion mounted ball valves, one of the key reasons for the popularity and success of these products is that the valves have been specifically designed for district energy applications.
"The material selections and component design have been tailored specifically to meet the requirements of district energy networks. This means there has been no need to compromise on the valve design," Pekkonen explains.

The modular design of the trunnion-mounted valves also supports reliable availability and efficient delivery performance. The valves have been engineered so that the same components can be used across several DN sizes.
"This allows us to manufacture larger batches of components for stock, which improves production efficiency, simplifies inventory management, and shortens delivery times," Pekkonen adds.
Vexve’s decades of experience in valve technology and the specific requirements of district energy networks are reflected not only in product development but also in the customer support. Vexve’s experts support customers throughout the entire project – from selecting the right valve solution all the way through the planning and implementation phases.
