Project Overview and Details

Kanalbyen in Fredericia is a large construction project adjacent to the Fredericia port. Historically the area contained industry, but since the closing of Kemira and the local shipyard, Kanalbyen has been allowed to spread right down to the waterfront with fantastic views of Lillebælt.

The completed project will comprise 2,800 jobs and 1,200 homes. New canals will be built, as well as retail options, and the area’s focus will be on culture. By the end of 2019, 73 new homes will be ready at Kongens Punkt in Kanalbyen.

In Kanalbyen you will have access to pop-up shopping areas, basketball courts, skating ramps and recreational fishing, as well as events such as barbecue nights, classic car shows and triathlons.

Solution

70 Frese OPTIMA Compact were used in Kanalbyen. Frese OPTIMA Compact is a pressure independent control valve (PICV), which prevents overflow and ensures the correct volume of water in all units. For this project Frese OPTIMA Compact has been combined with an actuator to provide electronic modulation (CTS).
