HS Tarm in Denmark has developed a small-sized power plant where a hybrid system with prefabricated heat pumps is placed inside a shipping container. The heat pumps can supply up to 60% of a small village’s yearly energy needs with a temperature of 60°C. Bioenergy boilers are used to cover additional needs for higher temperatures.
In the first phase of the project, HS Tarm produced three hybrid systems that were installed in different locations. Denmark’s district energy network consists of various smaller networks, and heat pumps are part of the national plan in achieving 90% fossil-fuel-free district heat by 2030.
Vexve X series ball and balancing valves with press-fit connection are used to control the flow to each individual heat pump as well as on/off valves.
